      When you count the growing middle class and rich Chinese it would seem that their consumer PC market may match America's soon. Certainly, in the major cities Apple's stores will find Mac customers. The potential of an internet tablet could be huge in addition to the iPhone.

      Apple Is Biting Off More Than It Can Chew
      A larger touch screen will cost more than Apple can charge on a tablet iBook. It can be surmised that Apple expects the price to drop to enable better profit margins on that product in the future. Along with it, a portable line case redesign, along with engineering costs will be booked in earnest in the introductory quarter, lowering margins. Jobs health is OK and speculation was an obvious attempt, right at earnings, to manipulate the market. It's happened a number of times and should be investigated by the SEC.

      Apple's Leap from Mediocre to Marvelous
      You should look into the medical uses of the iPhone G3. There will be software for it very soon after it's debut on the Apple iTunes website for iPhone software. Two were demoed in the debut announcement earlier this year.

      Apple: No 3G iPhone at the WWDC?
      Nice attempt to gin up site traffic! Obviously it's an ill conceived speculation. The iPhone is the most important Apple product since the iPod and is likely to surpass Mac income within two years. Apple's hand-held devices will dominate their product line and income for years to come. Of course it's the biggest story of this year and Jobs would not let the speculation become so focused should he not have a 3G iPhone in his pocket Monday.

      Apple's $199 iPhone Is a Game-Changer
      I agree with you. What hasn't been mentioned is the youth market. The initial price was beyond the range of most of the youth market. A subsidized price will help; but it will be the new games that will push youth sales higher soon after June. Universities are already experimenting with iPhone/iPod Touch Wi-Fi campus communications, giving new freshmen one or the other.

      The number of useable software programs will explode by Christmas creating more good word of mouth. Apple will be developing microprocessors for hand held functions for their devices with the engineers of the recent acquisition. Their many patents portend an integrated view of the technological future for personal use where only they can provide the integrated solution.

      Apple's New iPhone Applications No Threat to RIM's BlackBerry
      RIMM's security will primarily based on many IT members having a strong, and some might say irrational, prejudice against Apple. The iPhone will not replace RIMM overnight; but, just as happened with the iPod, the iPhone will dominate the smart phone market. There's no competition with the same assets in the fight. As corporate programmers become familiar with it and the SDK's power, they will find it's much easier to write more powerful software for it. Business software Developers will find it very easy to launch the much the same software code on Apple's desktops using the same free tools.

      8 Reasons To Buy Apple Stock Now
      There are two ways to invest in Apple. It's a "story" stock with exaggerated web news volume due to it's secrecy combined with rumor speculation and some manipulation with negative articles and "experts" chumming the waters. You can trade short term as you become familiar with the patterns. That takes a lot of work though, so a long term strategy is easier and, so far, profitable. You have to avoid the psychology of short term speculation dropping the value. I've owned some for more than 10 years; and I'm very happy.

      Today's market is quite risky; but the market may turn before people are feeling secure again. Monetary policy usually takes almost a year to effect the economy. Yet, the lenders will likely be effected sooner as the government throws cheap money at them. Apple is likely to continue to make new product news this year with the SDK producing a flood of software come summer and fall. The current $120 floor may well break; but come fall things could turn around. Apple's school sales and product introductions for Christmas as well as quarter announcements should propel the stock. Plus, you have the "new" U.S. President effect to stimulate the market.

      Long term, the iPhone will become the largest product segment for Apple with the iPod Touch family increasing the iPod segment. Corporate penetration, starting with the phone, will grow as their programmers find out how productive they can be with X Code and Cocoa. The demo programs were produced in 2 weeks with just one or two software engineers who had not used Cocoa before then. Jobs wanted to show them how much easier it is with Apple's tools. Their excitement showed it worked.

      Apple's iPhone SDK: This is Brand New Big Sh*t, But
      DutchMark is mistaken. The iPhone software distribution website is not the iTunes store. It is a separate website which should be international from the start. The iTunes content providers have separate legal markets which required separate contracts with Apple for each country. iPhone software doesn't have such legal issues to my knowledge.

      A New World for the iPhone
      Besides forecasting a bigger hand held iPod game device this year, the fast development time, 2 weeks for the demos shown, will encourage a lot of developers to try out the free SDK. This will show them how to develop software for the Mac, on a Mac with most of the same tools that come free with their Mac purchase. Corporations can avoid the server charges for Blackberry functionality while developing corporate programs with the functionality of desktop software. This will mean a lot more programmers familiar with OS X, and software ports. It's big news for the iPhone business; but also a halo effect for OS X and corporate IT familiarity.

      Apple Inc: The Hype Must Go On
      Your title and one paragraph implies that Apple's management is over hyping Apple's prospects and products. I've owned the stock for 8 years and followed Apple since the '80s. Apple's public presentations and advertising hasn't changed when Jobs is involved despite the stocks bumpy ride. Their marketing is quite successful and it's design has nothing to do with stock price. Look at their advertising for "hype". It's the opposite. Their public announcements are few and typically related to new product. The hype is supplied by the media's response to these products and the speculation over financial impact. Apple's ability to impact and redefine their markets is rare. It is this that fuels the "hype".

      Apple's iPhone Price Cut Was the Right Move
      Besides the "usual" price strategy, what if Apple's AT&T "use" revenue slice turned out larger than Apple anticipate. Amortizing the sales price "income" over the 2 year contract by Apple is useful in smoothing out the product cycle impact on Apple's income statements. Apple hasn't even "booked" the full price of the iPhone's sold so far. The price reduction will help increase European interest as well as holiday sales. It also increases cost pressures on their competitor's trying to match the iPhone.
